About Me

My nursing journey began long before I ever stepped into a classroom or clinical setting. As a military spouse and the child of a military parent, I learned early on the meaning of resilience, adaptability, and community. Those experiences shaped how I see people, how I show up in service, and why I believe so deeply in the impact one dedicated nurse can have on an entire community.

Over the years, my path has taken me through bedside nursing, community and public health, school health practice, and eventually into academic leadership. Each step taught me something different—how to advocate, how to listen, how to teach, and how to lead with both compassion and clarity. Today, I carry those lessons into my role as Director of Clinical Placement and Assistant Professor of Nursing at Mount Saint Mary’s University, where I have the privilege of guiding students, supporting clinical partners, and helping shape the next generation of nurses.

My heart has always been in school health and public health, where the work is proactive, relationship-driven, and rooted in equity. That passion led me to pursue my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Colorado Anschutz. My project—Becoming the Professional School Nurse: Learn, Lead, and Level Up—grows out of a simple belief: when school nurses feel confident, supported, and valued, entire school communities thrive. I created this project to uplift nurses, strengthen leadership, and help the people who care for students feel equipped and empowered.

At my core, I am someone who believes in service, in connection, and in the idea that leadership is not a title—it’s how we treat people. Whether I am teaching, building partnerships, mentoring students, or advocating for public health, my goal is always the same: to bring peace, clarity, and support wherever it’s needed most.
