Project 01: Nursing Education Program Development
Role: Lead Nurse Educator
In this project, I led the development of a comprehensive nursing education program aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of school nurses. It was a rewarding experience to contribute to the growth and development of nursing professionals.

Get to Know the Project
Becoming the Professional School Nurse: Learn, Lead & Level Up is my DNP Program Evaluation project designed to strengthen leadership, role clarity, and public health readiness among school nurses in Los Angeles County. Through a three-part Learning Series, participants engage in practical, real-world sessions focused on communication, documentation, advocacy, emergency response, and data-driven decision-making.
Each session highlights essential elements of school nursing: foundational leadership skills, effective teamwork with administrators and district partners, and evidence-informed strategies for improving student health outcomes. Expert speakers—including experienced school nurse leaders and faculty—guide participants in applying leadership behaviors that enhance visibility, confidence, and public health responsiveness in school settings.
This project also includes a comprehensive evaluation with pre- and post-surveys, session feedback, and outcomes measuring growth in leadership confidence, clarity of role expectations, and preparedness for communicable disease events and emergencies. The goal is to support long-term professional development while laying groundwork for a future School Nurse Residency Program and School Nurse Credentialing pathway.
Participants receive ongoing access to a downloadable Leadership Toolkit featuring advocacy templates, communication tools, data resources, emergency preparedness guides, delegation materials, and leadership journal prompts—practical supports they can use well beyond the series.
